as this article is a few days old, i’d like to update that the death toll, especially because of tunisian police brutality, is around 60 to date.  additionally, the protests and rioting are not only due to price hikes in food staples, but against general unemployment and corruption from the undemocratic regime that has been in power in tunisia for 20+ years.  you can read more about it here and watch a video about it here.
